Svetla Mavrodieva, an English language teacher
from Sofia, Bulgaria, was delighted to be awarded a scholarship to follow a
two-week teacher training course in Practical Methodology and Advanced
Language Practice in August 2006.

Svetla told us she benefited enormously from her stay in Eastbourne.

“Without this scholarship I would never have
been able to afford a training course in England. I will be telling
colleagues in my school in Sofia all about the new ideas and teaching
techniques I learned from Mitch and the other teachers on the course from
Slovakia, Finland and Germany.”
The scholarship was given by the school in
memory of Dorothy Rippon, Principal of the School from 1980 to 2000.
