Plans
for 2005
The 2005 programme is on this site - click
here to view the page.
You’ll find all our popular General English and examination courses,
plus a new
IELTS Intensive course which
includes 19 hours per week of preparation for this important examination. If you want to enter a UK university or
college, IELTS is the examination you need to take.
Courses
start in January 2005.
Fame
and Fortune
Abdu Abu Azzah, a student from Saudi Arabia who was
with us in 2002 and 2003, has always had a talent for music. Perhaps you remember him singing in the
garden at our summer Welcome Parties.
Now he’s a television star. He
was chosen from 60,000 applicants to star in Pop Idol, The programme was
recorded in Beirut and shown in many Arabic speaking countries.
And Graham White’s
sons, Alex and Tom, The Electric Soft
Parade, are recording their third album for Sony. Look out for it in a record store near you, or download one of the
songs from the internet.
Summer
in Eastbourne
Eastbourne is always busy in summer. We have the International Ladies’ Tennis Tournament in June.
Svetlana Kouznetsova, winner of the 2004 Tournament
In August there is the
Airborne
show when hundreds of aeroplanes fly over the seafront of Eastbourne and
perform spectacular displays.
Courses for the Italian Army
We have had four groups of students from the Italian Army
this year. They followed our General
English course and also had special Military English lessons with Dean Holdsworth. Here is a photo of the first group in April 2004.

2004. Eriko, Michael’s wife, is
returning to work soon and Michael is taking a year off from September to look
after Simon at home. Good luck,

This summer we have welcomed back Hugh Cansdale who has been working in Salvador, Brazil for a year,
also Phil Gibbins who works in
Gdansk in Poland. Garrath Jensen has
returned to us after teaching in Brighton for some years and Nick Morris came back early in 2004
after some time running a garden design company.
Lindsay Carter has also returned this summer, to help
James on the Social Programme.
Christine Hale has completed a garden design
course. She has been working with us
part-time for the last year, as has Graham
Smith, who has been following a course in Sports Therapy in his free time.

personal best at mini-golf in Helen Gardens.
His record now stands at 48 for 18 holes. Keep practising, Dean!
