Queen Elizabeth II visits ESoE
1st April 2010

Students and staff were amazed today when Queen Elizabeth II paid a surprise visit to Eastbourne School of English.  For security reasons, no notice was given of the visit so there was little time for preparation.

Students sang ‘God Save The Queen’, bowed and curtseyed.  A few of them were lucky enough to have a short personal conversation with Her Majesty.

The Queen agreed to have her photograph taken with the students as a lasting memory of the occasion.

The Principal, staff and students gave Her Majesty three cheers as she left the building.

We will always remember 1 April 2010 as a very special day in the long history of Eastbourne School of English.
