50+ social programme 2009

The Fifty Plus social programme is confirmed for the May, June, August and September 2009 courses.  The social programme includes visits to Chartwell (home of Winston Churchill), Hever Castle (home of Anne Boleyn) and Bateman’s (home of Rudyard Kipling), as well as the London South Bank, Canterbury and Rye.

A new addition to the programme is the Towner art gallery which will present a unique programme of major exhibitions of contemporary and historical visual art alongside displays from the important Towner art collection.

Dorothy Rippon pioneered the Fifty Plus course in 1985. It is aimed at anyone over the age of 50 wishing to:

  • build their confidence in speaking English. 
  • improve their understanding of spoken English
  • visit the beautiful South East of Britain
  • meet people from Britain and around the world
