English UK was established in 2004. It is a merger of ARELS and BASELT, the two associations representing private and public accredited English language institutions. English UK represents the interests of member organisations and helps them to promote their courses all over the world.

In 2006 we became members of IALC, the International Association of Language Centres, the association of accredited independent language schools worldwide. All IALC language centres are accredited through the IALC Quality Scheme which includes a rigorous inspection procedure.
