UK Visas

Not from the European Union (EU) or European Economic area (EEA)?

UK VisasIf you are not from the EU or EEA, you may require a visa to study in the UK. Please note that we are not able to advise on individual student visa requirements and applications. If you are not sure whether you need a student visa, contact your local British Embassy or Consulate or go to www.ukvisas.gov.uk.

There are now three types of student visas available for you:

  • Student Visitor Visa (SVV): Apply for this if you want to come to the UK for up to 6 months to study on any type of full-time course. Minimum English level: A1. There are also certain restrictions so check these carefully. More information is available here
  • Extended Student Visitor Visa (ESVV): Apply for this if you want to come to the UK for up to 11 months to study on a full-time English language course only. Minimum English level: A1. There are also certain restrictions so check these carefully. More information is available here
  • General Student Visa or Tier 4 General Student Visa (GSV): Students from visa national countries wishing to come to the UK to study for longer than 6 months must apply for a visa under tier 4 of the points-based system (since 31 March 2009). More information is available here

Special requirements exist for all types of application and they vary from country to country so we strongly recommend students visit www.ukvisas.gov.uk and www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk for more details.

We have an "A" grade Sponsor's Licence for Tier 4 student visas.

We are committed to helping you through the process as efficiently as we can. You can help us by providing the correct documentation and information quickly.

Often changing, visa procedures and regulations are sometimes confusing. We recommend you obtain the latest information directly from UKBA. EnglishUK can also provide useful information on visa matters.
